MV Innisfallen City of Cork Steam Packet Co ships wheel badge sunk 1940
A scarce original circa 1930 'M.V. Innisfallen Shipping Line gilt and enamel brooch', the 'City of Cork Steam Packet Company' Ireland enamelled flag mounted to the centre of a blue enamel ships wheel. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect.
Diameter 31mm.
During the Second World War on the 21 December 1940 the ferry 'M.V. Innisfallen' struck a mine off the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire and sank with the loss of four of the 220 people on board.
