British Red Cross Society Medical Officer technical badge named to a Doctor

A very scarce original Great War period medal issue to a Doctor working for the 'British Red Cross Society' Technical Branch' bearing 'Medical Officer' bar, the reverse inscribed '253 Dr. Ellis'. Very good condition, complete with original silk ribbon, title bar and gilt buckle suspension with pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, an excellent example.
Overall Length 82mm.
The British Red Cross Society Technical badges were instituted in 1914 and were eligible to members of the Voluntary Aid Detachments with professional qualifications, they were discontinued in the mid 1960's.
