Metropolitan Asylums Board hospital badge

A good original circa 1911 period 'Metropolitan Asylums Board hospital badge' gilded brass example in the form of a strap titled 'M.A.B. Service' the central black and white shield, depicting the 'Rod of Asclepius' on a red cross; the reverse impressed with early maker's details 'Fattorini Bradford' a backmark used between 1911 and 1913. Very good condition, complete with buttonhole fitting, enamel perfect.
Height 35mm.

The 'Metropolitan Asylums Board' was established in 1867 and dissolved in 1930.
