Gravesend special police sergeants badge

A very scarce original circa First World War period 'Gravesend special police badge', large circular gilded brass example, surmounted by an additional sergeant scroll, the centre depicting the 'Arms of Gravesend' with motto 'Decus et Tutamen' (An honour and a protection) inlaid with red, white and blue enamel. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, some service wear to gilded finish.
