Gardner Diesel bus and lorry engines promotional lapel badge
A scarce original circa 1960's 'Gardner Diesel L.G & S.Ltd advertising lapel badge', chromium plated example inlaid with blue enamel, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'H.W.Miller Ltd B'Ham.18'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel.

'L. Gardner and Sons Ltd' founded in Hulme, Manchester in 1868, started building diesel engines around 1895, for the marine industry and buses, lorries and coaches for road and rail. The firm ceased production circa early 1990s.
