WW1 Midland Railway War Service numbered badge

A scarce original First World War period 1914-1918 gilt and enamel circular badge, "Midland Railway" blue enamel title around the border Crowned "Railway Service" to the centre on white enamel ground, the reverse with maker's details "Thomas Fattorini Bolton", impressed with official low issue number "E 8010" and "Regd 638232" a registered, design and patent date of 1914. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.
