A rare original Great War period 'Newfoundland War Contingent Association Official Visitor badge'; large circular gilded brass example bearing an applied 'Caribou Head' on white enamel ground, within red enamel title surround; the reverse impressed with official issue number "41". Excellent condition, complete with original pin fittings pin a replacement, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.

Newfoundland War Contingent Association was formed in London in 1915. The aim was to provide welfare and comfort to the Newfoundlanders on active service overseas.
