A scarce original circa 1912 - 1940 'South London Hospital for Women nurse's badge'; gilded brass example, the crest bearing the sun, waxing and waning moons and nurses 'Lamp of Knowledge' with motto `Et Dato Gaudetis'; the reverve with maker's details "Thomas Fattorini Regent St Birmingham". Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings with safety roller catch in good working order, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, minor service wear to gilt finish, otherwise an excellent example.
Height 23mm.

Founded in 1912 as the 'South London Hospital for Women' named was changed circa 1940's to the 'South London Hospital for Women and Children'.
