WW1 Caledonian Railway war service badge

A rare original First World War period "Caledonian Railway war service badge" gilded brass example with blue enamel title surround, Crowned "Railway Service" title to the centre on white enamel ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details "J.A.Wylie & Co London" and official issue number "BB 1410". Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, minimal service wear to enamel.
Diameter 28mm.

The 'Caledonian Railway' was absorbed into the 'London, Midland and Scottish Railway' in 1923.
