WW2 North British Rubber Company on national war service badge

A scarce original Second World War period 'North British Rubber Company National Service badge' in the form of a gilded brass shield, the centre depicting the 'Scales of Justice' on orange translucent enamel ground; the reverse with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Regent St. Birmingham' and impressed with official issue number '5895'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect.
Height 26mm.

During the Second World War the 'North British Rubber Company' the company was employed for the Government in making Civilian Gas Masks, Baby Gas Masks, Ground Sheets, Anti-Gas Curtains and Ear Plugs to mention just a few. Their premises were situated in Castle Mills, Edinburgh Scotland and London.
