A scarce original First World War period 'When The People Willingly Offered Themselves Judges.V.2. Essex 1914 -15 badge'; brass circular example with embossed lettering, the reverse impressed with official issue number '435'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting.

Designed by Henry Strachey and given by the High Sheriff of Essex in 1914 -1915 to those who had offered their services but failed to enter the King's Forces due to some personal disability.
