RMS Carinthia ships wheel badge sunk 1940 German Submarine U.46
A rare original circa 1925 early period 'R.M.S.Carinthia gilt and enamel souvenir brooch', the Cunard Line Shipping Company red enamel flag mounted to the centre of a white ship's wheel, and in turn a blue enamel anchor. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel perfect, gilt remains bright.

'R.M.S.Carinthia' launched for Cunard Line in 1925. Second World War 1939 she was converted to an Armed Merchant Cruiser. Torpedoed and sunk 1940 by the German Submarine U.46 off the coast of Northern Ireland.
