A good original First World War period 'Central Association of Volunteer Training Corps badge', Crowned oval title, the centre depicting the war goddess 'Bellona'; the reverse with maker's details 'Fattorini & Sons Bradford' and with 'Regd 644266' a registered, design and patent date of early 1915. Very good mint condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, an exceptional example.

The Central Association of Volunteer Training Corps was formed in 1914, to counter the threat of a German invasion, it was officially recognised by the War Office. It was suspended in 1918, and officially disbanded in January 1920.
