A scarce original 1922 to 1927 '5IT Birmingham B.B.C. Radio Circle relay station badge'; gilded brass example bearing the 'Arms of Birmingham' in red and blue enamel, the reverse with maker's details "Samuel Jenkins, Hockley, Birmingham". Good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel intact, gilt finish with service wear.
Diameter 23mm.

'5IT Birmingham BBC relay station' first began broadcasting on the 15 November 1922. It was replaced on the 21 August 1927.
