Service Medal of the Order of St John SJAB 1942.
A good original full size Service Medal of the Order of St John 24501 A / SIS. M.Davis. No 2 Dist. S.J.A.B.1942 silver issue depicting the veiled bust of Queen Victoria and abbreviated Latin titles to the surround; the reverse bearing the 'Royal Arms within a Garter' surrounded by four circles containing the 'Imperial Crown', the 'Prince of Wales's Feathers' and the armorial bearings of the 'Order and of HRH the Prince of Wales', the first Sub-Prior of the Order. Between the circles are sprigs of St John's wort. Round the circumference is the Latin inscription "Magnus Prioratus Ordinis Hospitalis Sancti Johannis Jerusalem In Anglia" in 'Old English' script. Very good condition, complete with original silk ribbon.
