WW1 Buckinghamshire Volunteer Defence Corps 1914 VTC badge

A scarce original First World War 1914 -1919 period Volunteer Force 'Buckinghamshire Volunteer Defence Corps badge', die- stamped bronzed example in the form of a swan bearing coronet and chain round its neck, the scroll below inscribed "Bucks VDC 1914", the reverse retaining one of two wires, otherwise very good condition.
Height 30mm.

i The swan was the ancient badge of the 'de Bohum' family from whence it passed to the 'Stafford Dukes of Buckingham'.
