London Transport tram trolleybus driver or conductor cap badge c1962

A very good example of a scarce original circa 1962 period 'London Transport chromium plated Driver's or Conductor's cap badge' inlaid with dark orangy red enamel, depicting the late feature large dots; the reverse impressed with maker's details in relief "J.R.Gaunt London". Very good condition, retaining original two loop fittings, enamel perfect, minimal service wear, an excellent example.
Height 36mm.

The 'London Transport Tram & Trolleybus' bullseye badge was issued from mid 1934 and remained in use until becoming obsolete with the final demise of London's trolleybuses in May 1962. In the late 1950's the finish was changed from nickel plating to chromium plating.
