The Boys Life Brigade Officers BLB red enamel cross cap badge 1899 -1926

A scarce original circa 1899 -1926 'Boys' Life Brigade cap badge'; small silver plated example in the form of a red enamel cross superimposed on a laurel wreath with "BLB" initial reading vertically as well as horizontally, full 'Boys' Life Brigade' enamelled scroll below, the reverse with maker's details "W.O.Lewis, (Badges) Ltd Birmingham". Very good condition, retaining original two loop fittings and split pin, no damage to the enamel, minimal service wear.
Height 24mm.

The 'Boys' Life Brigade' was formed in 1899 by the 'National Sunday School Union' they amalgamated with the 'Boys' Brigade' on the 1st October 1926.
