Junior Imperial and Constitutional League young conservatives chairman medal
A scarce original early political party medal for the 'Chairman of the Junior Imperial and Constitutional League'. Crowned oval gilded brass example, the central device being a lion within 'For Empire' patriotic title surround, surmounted by the enamelled 'Flag of St George' and 'Union Jack Flag', the horseshoe title scrolls inlaid with blue enamel all suspended from a navy blue silk ribbon with central red, white and blue stripes, chairman suspension bar with original pin fittings; the reverse impressed with maker's details "W.O.Lewis (Badges) Ltd B'Ham". Very good condition, gilt remains bright, enamel perfect.

The 'Junior Imperial and Constitutional League' was formed in 1906 with objectives to encourage practical political work and organisation among the young Conservatives in Britain.
