A scarce original circa 1932 'Children's League To Help The Princess Elizabeth of York Hospital For Children' celluloid tin button fund raising badge, the centre depicting a black and white portrait of 'Queen Elizabeth II' at the age of six, when the hospial had just been renamed, the rim with maker's details "Thomas Fattorini Birmingham". Very good condition, complete with original pin fitting, no signs of any foxing, excellent patina.
Diameter 22mm.
In 1932 the 'East London Hospital' was renamed the 'Princess Elizabeth of York Hospital for Children'.
In 1942 it amalgamated with the Queen's Hospital in Hackney Road to form the 'Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children'.
