RAF No 216 Royal Air Force Squadron gold badge by Garrard & Co
A scarce original superb quality Elizabeth II period 'RAF No 216 Squadron' gold and enamel brooch; the hand-painted enamel badge depicting an eagle in flight holding a bomb in its claws with Latin motto 'CCXVI Dona Ferens' (216 Bearing Gifts), the reverse impressed with Birmingham 9 carat gold hallmarks for 1980 and maker's details 'G & Co Ld' in trefoil (Garrard & Co London) the Crown Jewellers. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch in good working order, enamel perfect, an excellent example.
