A scarce original circa George VI period 'Royal Air Force No 541 Squadron gilt and enamel badge', depicting a Speedwell Flower and motto "Alone above all", the reverse with maker's details "H.W.Miller Ltd Branston St. B'Ham.18". Good condition, retaining original pin fittings, minor chip to enamel at 12 o'clock (price reflects), gilt finish remains bright.
Height 33mm.

'Royal Air Force No 541 Squadron' was formed during the war at 'RAF Benson' in 1942 as a photographic reconnaissance squadron and was equipped with Spitfires to fly missions over Europe. It was reformed again at RAF Benson in 1947 and was disbanded in 1957.
