British Red Cross Society Irish County Down badge Northern Ireland

A rare original Northern Ireland early issue 'British Red Cross Society County Down gilt and enamel badge', the reverse with maker's details "J.R Gaunt & Son London" and inscribed "30592 W.Maguire". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel.
Height 49mm.

The British Red Cross Society County / Branch badge was Instituted in 1911 and Discontinued in 1956.
