A good circa 1930's 1940's period 'S.S.Oronsay Shipping Line gilt and enamel brooch', the 'Orient Steam Navigation Company' enamelled flag mounted to the centre of a ship's wheel. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel perfect
Diameter 27mm.

'S.S.Oronsay' was in service for 'Orient Steam Navigation Company Shipping Line' she started her maiden voyage 1925. In the Second World she was converted to a troop transport ship. On 9th October 1942 was torpedoed and sunk by the Italian submarine 'Archimede'.
