Coastal Aircraft Limited official war workers badge

A rare original circa 1940's 'Coastal Aircraft Limited lapel badge'; circular brass example with blue enamel title surround, the centre depicting what is believed to be a 'Short Sunderland flying boat' just above the sealine; the reverse with unusual maker's details "Fattorini Glasgow" and impressed with official low issue number "38". Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel.

July 20, 1939 of Flight Magazine make a small reference to the 'Coastal Aircraft Ltd' as being a new company 'To manufacture, repair and deal in aircraft', with Scottish address attached '190, St. Vincent Street, Glasgow'.
