A scarce original circa 1930's 'Life Saving Scouts belt buckle'; die-cast brass title surround in the form of a lifebuoy, the centre bearing diamond shaped device, depicting a boy scout in uniform and slouch hat, offering help to a younger boy. Very good condition.

The Life Saving Scouts were formed in 1913 by William Booth after been invited by Baden Powell to be a member of the governing body of world Scouting. In 1948 the British movement of the Life Saving Scouts merged with Baden Powell's Boy Scout Movement as the Salvation Army Scouts.
