A scarce original Second World War period superior quality 'Bundles For Britain from Union of South Africa silver badge'; depicting a three - dimensional chest on a band of ripple waves, the reverse impressed "925" (Sterling Silver) and with maker's details "S.A.M" (South African Mint). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings.

A reference was made to this organisation in the 'Birmingham Daily Gazette - Friday 31 December 1943' when children at a party provided by Messrs. Ansells at the 'Crippled Children's Hospital, Broad-street, Birmingham were each given a packet of sweets by "Bundles For Britain from Johannesburg" through the 'South African Voluntary Service'.
