Primrose League Honorary Dame badge in original case

A scarce cased 'Primrose League Honorary Dame of the League badge'; gilt and enamel example bearing the league's Latin motto 'Imperium Et Libertas' (Empire and liberty) and incorporating the Cross of St George and the Cross of St Andrew, the reverse with maker's details "T&JB" (T&J Bragg Birmingham). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel perfect, contained in its original blue velvet lined fitted presentation case, with name to the inside lid "By Appointment" "T&J Bragg Birmingham". An excellent example.

The motto of the 'Primrose League' was "For God, King and Country". The League was formed in 1883 to maintain Religion, the Constitution and the British Empire. Its whole purpose was to make the world better to live in and to foster above everthing else that love of Country which is the basis of true patriotism.
