Butlins 1936 Skegness Holiday Camp jolly fisherman pre-war badge
A rare original pre-war 'Skegness Butlin's Camp 1936 undated badge', in the form of a fisherman, the reverse impressed with maker's details in relief "Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel but with dark stress mark to left upper arm, gilt remains bright.
Height 26mm.
Butlin's Skegness Holiday Camp was thriving until the 3rd September 1939 when the Second World War was declared. The site was taken over by the Royal Navy for use as a training establishment, known as HMS Royal Arthur.
