A very scarce 'St George's Home silver and enamel nurses badge' in the form of a cross, mounted with the 'London County Council Coat of Arms' to the centre, the reverse bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1931 and maker's details "F&S" (Fattorini & Son). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch in good working order, no damage to the enamel surround but manufacturers flaws to the LCC Arms, minor surface scratches.
Height 31mm.

St George's Home' founded in 1914 was situated in 'Milman's Street London SW10'. Prior to 1948 its status was a Tuberculosis Hospital. It sadly closed in 1957.
