Amalgamated Society of Engineers ASE silver trade union badge
A scarce original 1913 -1920 period 'Amalgamated Society of Engineers lapel badge'; circular silver convex example inlaid with red, white and blue enamel, the centre bearing clasped hands across the globe "ASE" below, the reverse impressed "Sterling" and with maker's details "C&Co" (Cashmore & Co Birmingham). Good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, service wear to enamel on high points.
Diameter 21mm.
The 'Amalgamated Society of Engineers' was formed in 1851, it became the 'Amalgamated Engineering Union' in 1920.
