WW2 Home Guard official issue armlet

A scarce original Second World War period official issue armband'; black printed 'Home Guard' on khaki twill, the ends stitched together to form a band. Good condition, commensurate with age.

The Home Guard was formed on the 23rd July 1940 the force remained in existence until the 1st November 1944 when the German invasion was no longer a threat. It was finally disbanded in December 1945.
