Fairmile Marine Company boatbuilders to the Admiralty badge

A scarce original comparatively short-lived 1939-1953 'Fairmile Marine Company shipyard identification badge'; small gilded brass example bearing the company flag within a title surround, highly defined in red, white and blue enamels; the reverse with maker's details "Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham" and impressed with official low issue number "419". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, minor wear to enamel.
Diameter 20mm.
Fairmile Marine Company based in Cobham, Surrey was founded by Noel Macklin in 1939. It was taken over by the Fairmile Construction Company Ltd in 1953.
