A scarce original First World War gilt and enamel war workers badge, from the 'John Mares Ltd a textile fabrics manufacturer' based in Basingstoke, Hampshire, the reverse with maker's details "J.R.Gaunt & Son London. Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole horseshoe fitting, enamel perfect, gilt remains bright.
