Pontins Holiday Camp Reviera enamel flag badge c1960's
A scarce original circa 1950's / 1960's gilded brass badge in the shape of a flag flown from a mast, inlaid with purple enamel, depicting a white gull and inscribed "Pontin's Reviera", the reverse with maker's details "W.J.Dingley Trophies & Medals Birmingham". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel.
Height 15mm.
Fred Pontin opened his first holiday camp in 1946 at 'Brean Sands' near Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. He gradually increased them to thirty in both Ireland and the United Kingdom.
