WW2 Portsmouth Special Constable police reserve badge

A scarce original Second World War early pattern 'Special Constable chrome and enamel badge', the centre bearing a heraldic shield from the 'Portsmouth City Coat of Arms' and depicts a golden eight pointed star resting in a Crescent; the reverse with maker's details 'Caxton / P.Co Westminster S.W.1' and impressed with official low issue number '589'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel.
