Imperial Airways officers gold bullion cap badge circa 1924-1939

A rare original circa 1924 -1939 Airline,'Imperial Airways officer's cap badge', gold wire embroidered laurel wreath surmounted with lion on torse, "IA" monogram to the centre, all set on black felt padded backing, the reverse with black paper hessian lining. Very good condition, bullion remains bright.
Height 72mm.

Imperial Airways was founded in 1924 and was merged into the British Overseas Airways Corporation in 1939, later to become British Airways.
