Air Ecosse Scottish airline pilots wing gold bullion uniform badge

A scarce original relatively short-lived 'Air Ecosse Airline pilot's wing badge'; gold wire embroidered padded wings on maroon felt backing, central shield bearing stylize "E" on woven silk, the reverse retaining original black hessian lining. Very good used condition, bullion remains bright.

Air Ecosse Airline formed in 1977 based in Aberdeen, Scotland, it was a subsidiary of Fairflight Charters based at Biggin Hill. Ceased operating as Air Ecosse in 1989 and subsequently became part of the new company 'Aberdeen Airways'.
