London Airport souvenir Hawker Hurricane fighter plane badge

A scarce original circa mid 1940's commercially made 'London Airport badge' in the form of a gilded brass 'Hawker Hurricane plane' bearing red, white and blue enamel roundels with an applied enamel shield depicting an early view of the control tower. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
Length 31mm.
Wingspan 38mm.

'London Airport' was officially opened in 1946 and was renamed 'Heathrow Airport' in 1966.
