Vernon Institute Hospital red cross auxiliary VAD war service badge

A scarce First World War period 'Vernon Institute Auxiliary War Hospital silver gilt and enamel nurse's badge'; red enamel cross on white ground, within a circular blue enamel title surround "Vernon Institute Hospital 1914 1915", mounted on a slim bar, the reverse impressed "Silver", with maker's details "D&F" (Deakin & Francis), and inscribed "In Remembrance of V.I.H.S. Nov 14th 1914 - Feb 28th 1919". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings and gilt finish, no damage to the enamel just a few minor manufacturing firing flaws.
