Royal Navy HMS Hood mother of pearl sweetheart brooch 1920-1941
A scarce original 'H.M.S. Hood sweetheart brooch'; brass and enamel badge bearing a Cornish chough and anchor from the crest of 'Admiral Hood' resting on title scroll inlaid with blue enamel, mounted on a mother of pearl circular disc, a style popular in the First World War and into the Second World War. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, old replacement pin, no damage to the enamel.
Diameter 28mm.
HMS Hood went down in Naval History following her disastrous engagement with the German Battleship 'Bismarck' in May 1941.
