National Union of Teachers Aldershot & Farnborough President Badge

A very good quality, unmarked possibly silver gilt pre 1974 'National Union of Teachers badge'; oval bearing Latin motto 'Fac et Spera' (Do and hope), mounted by a 'Lamp of Knowledge' with 'President' scroll above and further scroll to the bottom 'Aldershot & F'Bbo' the applied central device depicting two figures supporting a shield with 'NUT' to the center, the badge is complete with red, white and blue enamel inlay, the reverse impressed 'JRG&S' (J.R.Gaunt & Sons). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect.

Aldershot and Farnborough Urban Districts, Hampshire were merged in 1974 to form the Borough of Rushmoor.
