A scarce original 1930's promotional gilt and enamel song badge 'The Lambeth Walk', the dancing lady wearing a red dress, the reverse with maker's details "Stratton Birmingham" "Copyright". Good condition retaining original pin fittings, chips to the enamel on right lower leg, stress marks to legs, right arm and tail of dress.
Height 37mm.
i"The Lambeth Walk" was a song from the musical "Me and My Girl" first made popular in 1937 by Lupino Lane, The song took its name from a notable street market in Lambeth Walk, London. "The Lambeth Walk" was turned into a film in 1939.
