British Railways SS Brighton ships wheel badge 1949 to 1967

A rare original period 'Steam Ship Brighton souvenir badge', in the form of a chromium plated ship's wheel mounted with a brass and enamel circular badge with 'S.S. Brighton' title and bearing the 'British Railway' logo on a shipping line company flag to the center. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
Height 31mm.

'SS Brighton' was built for British Railways in 1949, sold to Jersey Lines in 1967 and renamed 'La Duchesse de Bretagne', scrapped in 1970.
