WW1 National Reserve Buckinghamshire home front badge

A scarce numbered First World War period 'National Reserve Bucks gilded badge', highly enamelled Crowned oval the centre bearing the Swan of Buckinghamshire on a divided red and blue enamel background, the reverse with maker's details "J.R.Gaunt. London" and impressed with very low official issue number "44". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt remains bright, an excellent example.
