Australian National Airways Flight Engineer officer brevet badge

A rare original early 'Australian National Airways Flight Engineer badge', silver plated wing with outline map of Australia within sunburst, inlaid with red enamel and surmounted by a King George VI Crown, the reverse with maker's details "Stokes Melb.". Very good condition, retaining original two loop fittings, no damage to the enamel, very minor wear to plating, an excellent example..

'Australian National Airways' was founded in 1936, sold to Ansett in 1957 to form 'Ansett-ANA', the name was retained until 1968 when it was renamed 'Ansett Airlines of Australia'.
