Mozambique Department of Railways Harbours Airways airline badge

A scarce original circa 1940's 'DETA gilt and enamel airline lapel badge' bearing the Portuguese Mozambique Coat of Arms, the reverse with maker's details "Casa Joao Anjos, R.DA Misericordia 121 Lisboa". Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, no stress or damage to the enamel.

CFM 'Caminhos de Ferro de Mozambique', DETA 'Direcção de Exploração de Transportes Aéreos' was established in 1936 as a division of the Department of Railways, Harbours and Airways of the Portuguese colonial government of Mozambique. Renamed LAM Mozambique Airlines 'Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique' in early 1980.
