WW2 Ministry of Supply Barrow Works 127 ARP shipbuilders badge

A scarce original Second World War 'Ministry of Supply Barrow Works A.R.P. brass badge', green enamel circular title the centre bearing a GVIR Crown above 'A.R.P' overstamped with official issue number '127'. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
Diameter 26mm.

The Ministry of Supply was department of the Government formed in 1939 to co-ordinate the supply of equipment to all three British armed forces. Barrow Shipbuilding Works, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria were responsible for supplying Royal Navy ships during the Second World War.
