WW1 British Salonika Force Greece lapel badge

A scarce original pre-1928 lapel badge, possibly prior to the Salonika Reunion Association' in the form of a large gilt shield depicting the sun rising from behind a mountainous view in region of the Gulf of Salonika, the reverse with maker's details "Fattorini & Sons Bradford" (1908-1928). Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, gilt remains bright, an excellent example.

The Salonika Reunion Association was formed in 1924 for members that had seen wartime service in the Balkans, they held their 44th and final Annual Remembrance Parade and Service at the Cenotaph London in 1968.
