Kent County Nursing Service district nurse hat badge

A scarce circa 1950's 'Kent County Nursing Service' nurses hat badge, bearing the 'White horse of Kent' with the initials 'K.C.N.S' embroidered in silver wire on red felt backing. This is accompanied by a packing note from 'Boyd Cooper Limited. 12, Bruton Street, London, W1' who were one of the tailors approved by the 'Central Midwives' Board' from whom you could obtain your complete nurses uniform. Very good condition, colours remain bright.
